Dog-Friendly Beaches in Sydney

Finding a beach where your dog is welcome takes some homework in Sydney, because rules differ between councils and can change by season, time of day or trial period. This list covers harbour, bay and ocean beaches with dog areas, from harbour coves to designated sections of larger beaches. Each entry has a Dog rules panel for the zone, leash rules, permitted hours and the council source. Rules change, so always check council signage on arrival, pick up after your dog and keep clear of wildlife and swimmers.

Rules change — always check council signage
